Catalpa9

Quick reminder...craft night is TOMORROW!!!!!...see you there!!!

So I have a dear, dear friend who is a craftaholic like me, only she's done something braver than I ever could....she has started to offer her craft projects online through etsy!!!  I'm so excited to see her getting the chance to do what she loves (card making, gift making, paper goods, etc.) and sharing them with others who might like to own them as well!  As a recipient of many of her handmade cards over the years, I can tell you, they are so cute!  Now, she's ventured into more than just cards.

I was so surprised to receive a sweet note from her on facebook about a new listing she had in her online shop...pinwheels for Halloween named after...wait for it....ME!!!!  How cool is that?!  I couldn't wait have some of my very own!  I just got them in the mail a few nights ago, and they are now proudly displayed on my kitchen hutch in the cutest little vase that she sent for them as well!  And, to top things off, I got some adorable paper fans that match the colors of my kitchen perfectly.  Now, I'll be in paper fan style all year round!!!  So, Ms. Catalpa9...I'm so proud of you!!!  Thank you for your sweet gesture, it made my day! :)

Be sure to check her shop out and order a ton for yourself too!!!  I think the fans and pinwheels would make great decorations or party favors for birthday parties, baby showers, wedding decor, etc.

Oh, and here's more photos of what she can do...she's happy to help you with any custom order!!!  If you can dream it, I'm sure she can make it!

Here's what I got...

She custom made me a spiderweb vase!

Check out the awesome bead detail on the front of the pinwheels!

Her attention to detail is just awesome!

I LOVE the colors of these fans!

Be sure to check her shop...so cute!!

Jack-O-Ween

It's my favorite, favorite, favorite holiday of the year, and I'm in full Halloween Spirit this month!  Last year, we were moving into our new house, I had started a new business, and life was just all sorts of crazy!  Needless to say, Halloween sadly suffered at my house last year.  I got my decorations up, but it was about a week before Halloween and my annual Halloween party was pathetic small and cozy. This year, I was determined to make up for it!!!

My husband, bless him, thoroughly supports my obsession with Halloween...but he also knows how I am.  He found the need early on in our marriage to restrict/limit the amount of time that our home looks like it's infested with bugs, a graveyard, ghosts, witches, and ghouls to one month (rather than 3 if I had my way)!  So once October 1st rolls around, I'm in full planning mode for my favorite month.  This year, the hubby was out of town the weekend of October 1st, so I had free reign to go crazy decorate without intervention interruption!

A lot of my decorations make repeat appearances year after year...some I've made, some I've bought, some I've re purposed...that's what makes it fun!

(Click the photos to see the decor up close!)

The twig wreath was a quick and easy project from a few years ago...you spray paint a pre-made twig wreath black, push stick eyeballs from Target (they still sell them!) onto the branches randomly after it dries, tie a cute bow out of your favorite Halloween ribbon...and voila!  A spooky wreath that will really catch your eye (I know, I'm a big dork!)
I made the Bat Wing Soup wall hanging two years ago..it's so cute!

Who doesn't love vintage horror movie plates?!

Amen Sister!

Target had this awesome vintage-looking print tablecloth...love it!

Another larger eyeball wreath

I love these spiderweb curtains in the kitchen...they make the room just dark and sinister enough for my tastes!

And this is just the inside of the house....mwahh ahh ahh ahh ahh!!!
